Corey A. Jones, MD, is a board-eligible and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee joint replacements. Dr. Jones is dedicated to restoring mobility and improving quality of life for patients suffering from a variety of orthopedic conditions with a focus on degenerative/inflammatory joint diseases, post-traumatic arthritis, complex joint deformities, and complications following joint replacements.
He has extensive training and experience in performing minimally invasive anterior hip replacements, robotic-assisted joint replacements, partial knee replacements, complex hip and knee replacements, and revision joint replacements. Dr. Jones is passionate about employing cutting-edge technologies and using muscle-sparing techniques such as the anterior hip approach and robotic-technology assisted surgeries to provide personalized care that enhances outcomes and speeds the recovery for patients. His expertise also includes the treatment of prosthetic joint infections, peri-prosthetic fractures and general orthopedic fractures and injuries.
With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Jones believes that excellent orthopedic care begins with strong communication. "Every patient has a story, and my job is to strive to make that story better," he says. "Whether or not surgery is required, clear and open communication between the surgeon and the patient is essential to building trust and delivering the best care possible."
Dr. Jones is originally from Melbourne, FL and attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and medical school. In medical school he graduated first in his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He moved to Atlanta, GA to complete an orthopaedic surgical residency at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital. During his time in residency he was consistently involved in program leadership was elected by his colleagues and faculty to serve as Chief Resident and was awarded the Thomas Moore Sr. Mentorship Award for "exemplary mentorship to his junior residents". Following residency, he completed an additional year at Harvard in Boston, MA learning advanced techniques in revision and complex joint reconstruction from faculty that have set the foundation for modern joint replacements. He has now returned to the greater Atlanta area to help serve the people and community which he knows played such a pivotal role in shaping him as a physician and surgeon.
He is certified in ROSA and MAKO robotic surgery, has published in a variety of journals and is an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the Georgia Orthopaedic Society.
