Dr. J. Scott Holmes, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction. He sees patients at our Snellville office in Gwinnett County, where he offers advanced surgical and nonsurgical care for a wide range of joint conditions.
Dr. Holmes treats complex conditions including osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, avascular necrosis, rheumatoid and inflammatory arthritis, periprosthetic joint infections, periprosthetic fractures, and complications following total joint replacements. His surgical expertise spans total hip and knee replacements, anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, revision joint replacement, robotic-assisted procedures, and complex total joint reconstruction.
Certified in MAKO, ROSA, and CORI robotic systems, Dr. Holmes utilizes state-of-the-art technol-ogy to optimize outcomes and recovery for his patients. He also provides general orthopedic care, including fracture management and treatment of degenerative meniscal tears.
Dr. Holmes earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Clemson University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Calhoun Honors College. He received his Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University, serving as Administrative Chief Resident and a member of the Program Evaluation Committee. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Duke University School of Medicine.
